Dad ran the Buick key fob through the wash. I'll try drying it but it's been over 24 hours since and still wet when I opened it.
I can get new fob w/ batt for $25. One seller says 'dealer only' programming while another says programmable if you have a good fob, which dad has and is using the spare. Transferring the key is easy enough by punching out the dowel pin.
Google fu is iffy but one YT shows a late model Equinox w/ similar fob start and run off original fob, shut off, insert new fob and restart to learn but I dunno if applicable to Verano.
Any advice?
TIA
Remove battery and put fob in a ziploc bag of uncooked rice and place in a sunny window for a day or so.

Yea, it's been sitting in a food storage container w/ rice and lid on for a few hours now, under the range hood light for the night. Prolly set it outside tomorrow now that ya mention it.
3V battery reads 2.77V
At least it wasn't his cell phone again, that didn't end well.
thanks
If it's humid out, the sunny window may be better unless that's an airtight container. Good luck!
Two days drying in the rice, installed battery and it works. Keyed and remote start, door locks and trunk.
... and then just randomly holding the fob w/o touching any button the horn/ panic goes off. Geezus, back in the rice.
Gonna order a new fob and chance the programming.
Sounds like you're almost >< there!
