Puppy needs a home in ATL

A friend from StL moved to ATL lately, and his roommate needs to find a home for her dog - some kind of landlord issue or something. But the shelters are full, so unless she finds a home, she's pound-bound, which is obviously a death sentence.

Nico is a lab/pit mix, though much more Labby than anything else. She's a bit under a year old, so pretty puppy-ish still. He reports she's happy/loving with everything else, people, animals, kids. Has done a little chewing when toys weren't around, but seems to be getting over it. Very trainable - has learned the sit/shake/down dance already. Crate trained now. She's up on her shots (though documentation may be hard to dig up on that), and she's not yet fixed.

And she's a cutie...

A friend of my sister does dog rescue in that area....I've let my sister know about this

I really wish we could take her. My apartment is only big enough for one dog...

Please do pass word around to rescue organizations, and I'll try to get you a more direct email contact about the dog. This is evidently a pretty pressing matter, not just an 'oh...I don't know if I can keep her...' scenario.

Man, if only I were closer.

Heard back from my cousin, she works with a shelter and has contacts with a bunch of others so she's going to rally the troops. If you want to send me the direct contact info to jim at misfittoysracing dot com I'll forward it on to her.

If we didnt already have 4 dogs and vet bills exceeding my annual racing budget (Lemons, GRM and BABE combined) from the latest sick one I'd probably take a road trip down there, she's a beauty.

Yeah, she's a cute little one. Sounds like she's heading back my way soon - not initially destined for my house, but we'll see what the fates bring us.

I know my boy Linus would be more than happy to have a companion.
