Just got back to the hotel a little while ago. I had a great time. The weather was just about perfect. The crowd was very friendly and well-behaved. The show was entertaining and thought provoking. Yosuf (Cat Stevens) sounded great. The battle with Ozzy was epic. Never picture the two of them smiling and laughing on stage together. The OJ's sounded great too. The Roots 'killed' the morning soundcheck / jam session. That may have been the best performance of the day. The attendees clearly lean towered the liberal or moderate but why would anyone have a problem with that. Everyone has a right to be patriotic. The size of the crowd was impressive. The only event I can compare it to was when I went to the 1995 Indy 500 back when it was still the largest single day sporting event in the world. I've read estimates of 250,000 and it seems believable. It absolutely dwarfed a typical New England Patriots / Gillette Stadium crowd.

Too bad their version of sanity is pretty much just the Democratic party platform, from what I can tell.
So talking rationally without yelling about "DEEEAAAATTHHH PANELS!!!??!!! KEEEP THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF MY MEDICAID".... Is a democratic party platform?
and if you think any of that 'talking rationally' stuff is going on in their majority, whelp, good for you.

Was there. It was really fun. Great signs. I would say 1 in 10 had a serious message. The rest were silliness.
Everyone was polite and there to have a good time. It was a great way to spend an Indian Summer day on The Mall. The Mall was freakin packed. I've never seen so many people in one spot. I really enjoyed the apolitical bend of the rally.
Then I used the excellent point and shoot capabilities of my Speed3 to get home on 95. Woot! Woot!
I loved the sign that read, "DOWN WITH SIGNS"
Now I'm really pissed I didn't go. The Roots and Ozzy? Damnit!

Just imagine that, C-Span????
Stewart stumps at about the last 20 minute mark (after the puppet) but before Tony Bennett.
Here are attendees who posted their photos and many pictures of signs.

Xceler8x: there is a guy in the photos who's shirt matches your avatar photo, was that you?
I saw the subject, and thought it must be a Motorsports event, and passed it by. Was working anyways, so I wouldn't have made it. Oh well, I would have preferred the Rally to Keep Fear Alive.

nope.. The fact that the repubs are scared of Beck and Palin makes my head want to explode.. They got like 4.5 brain cells between them.
What was that bumper sticker:
'Know why there's so few Republicans at political rallies? They are all at work.'

Who cares about political affiliation, even if I was a firm republican, I'd still go see Stewart and Colbert, and even if I didn't like them i'd still go so I didn't have to see Glen Beck or hear him talk.

I really wish I had been able to go. I would have at least brought my extra Vote Quimby sign. I can't believe how many people didn't get that this was not terribly serious. On my lunch break someone had on a local talk station where this wanna be Glen Beck, Jason Mattera was playing things he recorded at the rally to point out how stupid these kids were. Someone had a sign "Drop beats not Bombs" He was seriously interviewing the guy on how to do that and why he thought it would work. Even though the sign holder was clearly stoned he couldn't figure out how he was being taken seriously.
I can't wait to go see Lewis Black in a few weeks after the elections are over.
