Here is a (edit-C7) Corvette I saw at my local 7-11. I guess there were two guys racing down Gulf Blvd heading South near the South end of Treasure Island. Well there is a nice long curve right before you cross a bridge on to St Pete Bch. Happened at 3:30 in the morning yesterday and not sure why the car is still there this afternoon. I know the owner of the 7-11, I'll get the full story when I cross paths with him
The Vette didn't make it. The driver is in serious condition last I heard.

Is that what snoop dog means "park it like it's hot?"
That's a C7. You can see the engine in front.
But dayum.

I saw the shape of what used to be the taillights and thought it was the newest one, lol. I didn't even think about the engine being in the wrong place. It looks like the engine was always in the front, not placed there by physics during the wreck.
Wow, that gas station is really close to residential buildings! I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.
As for the Corvette, I want to know the full story as to how it got there, burnt to a crisp, and nothing blew up.

Oh. Big fire. The pair of pumps it slid into are gone. See the cones? there were pumps there.

It had to be air born when it hit there because the sidewalk and railing it came through are about 3' higher and 30' away to the right if you are looking at the front of the car.

I grew up there. That's an amazingly bad choice of location.

For a race? Yes. The speed limit is 35mph and the mile of road to the North is 2 lanes each way, no turn lane. The bridge going to St Pete Bch was only widened to 4 lanes back in 2001. The road was probably 40 or 50 ft farther away when the 7-11 was built.

Someone ran out of talent. Jeebus it’s lucky it was the middle of the night. Looks like they kept on going straight based on the location of the 7 Eleven relative to that curve, physics can be a b#@ch that way.

Yea, that turn isn't that tight. Traffic regularly cruises through it at 45+. It isn't even as tight as turn 1 at Sebring so 100mph would be easy I think under controlled circumstances, as in, not a berkeleying public road. This had to be around 100mph at the start of the wreck, there is too much tire on that thing to fly that far off the road at anything less.
Wow, I know exactly where that is. I've been over that bridge a bunch of times. Not a smart spot to be racing.
How's that Taco place?

Taco Bus is OK, nothing special. There is better Mexican food at the VIP Lounge about a mile up the road.
In reply to jgrewe :
That sounds like a strip club.

Not a strip club, lol. I just read the full name on the map." VIP Mexican American Cuisine"
Its a bar with a good kitchen.
Remember, this is right next to the beach. There might have been sand on the road.
Thought I'd add this.

Yup. Taco Bus was better before they went franchise.
I don't want to speculate, but that is a white C7 in the Tampa area with Nittos on it. Are the red things in the hatch area what's left of nitrous tanks? If so, this could be a an infamous car...
