The only rc car I've ever had was given to me as a gift years ago. I have no experience in building one so you know where Im coming from. Not sure why but I have a silly desire to turn my old lawn mower into radio controlled so yes it can cut the lawn with me at the rc helm. Its not that Im lazy and want to avoid actually walking behind my mower cutting the lawn, I just think it would be a neat creation to build.

The little reading Ive done, one guy took an old mobility scooter, butchered it up, mounted it on the mower with a custom welded (my father can weld))frame/support, and that was the propulsion source. Think he used a lawn tractor battery. He hooked up some sort of controller and he was off mowing. Im sure it was tens of hours of labor to build it.

It was pretty neat to see what looked to be a robot lawn mower cutting his lawn.

Any advice for an aspiring novice rc guy is much appreciated. Recommendations for type/brand controllers, and other parts if you care to share.

This guy does a pretty comprehensive build.

That's the controller he's using.

I've got a Jazzy base that I'm considering doing the same thing.
