Carter seemed a decent sort while in office (if maybe in more than a little over his head) but now that he's out he's a sanctimonious self righteous a$$hole.
not really. Carter has never been afraid to roll up his sleeves and get to work. He puts his money where his mouth is.. and for that you have to respect the man. I have met him, worked with him on a HFH project, the man has a -lot- going on in his brain at any one time
He makes a much better ex-president than he did as a president and puts that behind the work he feels needs to be done both at home and abroad

He would be a far better ex-president if he'd follow the precedent set by his predecessors - not criticizing his successors.
Too much of what he says comes across as sour-grapes whining. He had his chance and he failed, miserably. He would have earned a lot more of my respect if he had just STFU.
oldsaw summed it up. I'm sure he wants to help and doesn't mind throwing himself into it but damn he needs to just shut up, or at least learn that most times sugar beats vinegar. .

I'll bet your ribs suck.
Um... not just no but HELL, no. I'm a vinegar and mustard base man. Molasses and ketchup mixed together make a crappy cake frosting and should NEVER be slobbered over pork or beef on pain of death.
