I have a bunch from the 70's and 80's including the Hot Wheels City. I'll have to go through them and take some pics of the cool ones.

Why blue on a truck that never came as anything but red? Plus, I dunno how you guys are having such an issue with the paint, the first one I ever saw was good, and also the first one I bought. They came in black too :) but yeah purple is stupid.

Hot Wheels routinely will issue multiple colors of the same the basic/original livery without regard to authenticity. Like the black GT2 M3.
Agreed though, they kinda missed the boat with the Lil Purple Express.

Sorry, JUST now saw this- What would it take for me to acquire it?
These two are from the same case as the Celica and green 2002.
These 2 are from a batch of Halloween cars sold at Kroger and related stores.
Kroger are also getting a series of cars that includes a white version of the 1st-gen RX7, but they haven't showed up around here yet.

How much you want for that ECTO-1?
Finally started seeing the "Super Speeders" foil-wrapped cars in local Krogers. Were originally $1.49, but have seen them marked down to $.74 to $.49 at different stores.
There's a printed code on the front of the bags that allow you to figure out what car is in a package. Match the two-digit number up with the legend on the back. The series has some cool recolors.
Idk how new it is, but I found a yellow ferarri 458 spider at walmart today, its more detailed than the older one with the top too.
Not a Hot Wheels car, but this is sitting on my desk at work. I like it, because it's just what my car looked like from the factory.
And, yes, you see the back end of a 1:18 model of the Orange Supra from The Fast and the Furious in the background.
In reply to jde:
A code you say?!?! Dammit! Now I feel like an idiot for feeling up every bag until I was sure I had the RX-7 (which I did).

I'm still looking for that one. The local stores have very poor selection.
