Keep in mind, mold is also in the outside air. If the count is particularly high in the property, or you are particularly sensitive to it, the remedy is typically to rescind the lease, not necessarily to relocate at the LL's expense, at least not unless you can prove the LL leased the space with knowledge it was unsafe.

Not all mold is big "M" mold, either, or "black mold" as it is often referred to, or even particularly dangerous. I'm not recommending a casual attitude toward it, just that its not the panic button its made out to be. Bottom line, if its causing you problems, rescinding the lease is the most likely outcome. There are some things you can do to make your lease more tolerable, and there are some things your LL can do, too, but realistically, the basic nature of the property is not likely to change without the kind of work that involves not living in it while its happening.

Mold can also happen as a result of catastrophic circumstances, not just the environment. For example, a pipe bursts and floods the home.

If you keep posting the truth like that, and calling people on stuff, you know it's only a matter of time before you're labelled a douchebag.

Hey, SFO, have you tested for mold? There are little kits you can buy at most home improvement stores.

That's sweet, I love those types of houses

People actually like split levels? I will never live in one ever again. The one exception to this is a tri-level or quad-level, where the kitchen, living room, laundry, and master/master bath are on the same level as the garage. Otherwise I despise these types of homes. Always going up and down stairs to go anywhere gets old, fast. And the bedroom over the garage is always hot, or cold, depending on the season. Awful.

I dig the Cherokee.

We don't use the downstairs portion, so it's fine. The huge raised deck off the back is kinda cool, too. I'd never buy a split level, but i'll rent one and not complain about the fact that it's split.

Thanks Cotton! The Cherokee is a trooper. Nice little baby lift, just about 200k miles, and doesn't complain pretty much ever.

I suppose I should mention, I rented one as well--looks like the exact same floor plan, actually. And I didn't complain while I rented, but I sure complain now.
