Seems my trigger is shorted as it feeds immediately after being turned on without the trigger button being pushed. If I fail to repair it (think it's inside the plug but I could be wrong) does anyone here have any suggestions for a replacement? Maybe Lincoln makes a beefier one that fits, or there's a nicer "aftermarket" option.

Your suggestions are welcome :)

Neverrrrrrrrrrmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind.

I was able to fix it. The wires in the plug were all twisted around each other and shorted. I cut out the rats' nest and reconnected, soldered and shrink tubed it. It chooches proper again :)

And for future reference Tweco is the industry standard for mig guns and will most assuredly offer a few upgrades to what you have.
