I played drums from the time I was potty trained until I started college 2000. About 10 years ago I bought another set and was wanting to get my chops back. When I realized I wasn't going to be able to dedicate the time, I sold them again. frown

Still have a couple of guitars I bang around on occasionally.

I'm trying to avoid buying the $500 Willys I found on Facebook marketplace. If I wait a couple hours it should be sold. I need to buy things that take up less space, like motorcycles.

When I told my wife the money hit our account this morning, and asked what dumb purchase we should make she responded with "A tiger, it's the only right thing to do in 2020"....

Shipping container, 1900 rounds of various ammo, a pressure washer, a torque multiplier and 3/4" drive ratchet, and ~$700 worth of front end parts for a ratty old 3/4 ton Dodge.

Over the next 48 hours a "Ron Paul 2012" sticker will appear on it somewhere because of that description

It's probably very rough but it has a title.

And it's $500...

Wow, with a title, it might be worth it, but that is way too buried for me to even think about.

$700 worth of TonyKart/TM parts - magnesium hubs (ouch), bearings, brake pads, exhaust supports, clamps, a radiator, a battery, carb rebuild kits, and parts to rebuild the engine.

I still need a chain and sprocket.

From the department of rather dangerous bad ideas that you can get when you have cabin fever, I've been tempted to buy something like this. I haven't placed the order yet, but it looks like it should make it easy to whip up a bowl of molten aluminum - what could possibly go wrong?

I like that "bang around on guitars", that's pretty much what I do.   I played through college but that was it.  No space, no time and just way too loud for the house.   My daughter and I were at GC a couple of years back window shopping (mostly to grad some strings for her bass but we wouldn't want to be rude) and she double dog dared me to try one of the kits out.   I might as well have been sitting on another planet, it's all gone...

I think I also have a bass in the closet, but no bass amp. So it's no fun. I love my Brent Hinds Flying V, plays great and sounds great. I'm just not that good!

My son and daughter both have decent bass chops.  They played sax and flute respectively in school, daughter somehow taught herself keyboards and was good enough to play in a band from time to time in HS.   Having basic musical theory is apparently a good thing.   Me, I'm a hack but I love playing when I can find time.   I have a Schecter Tempest Blackjack that's a legit instrument (happy birthday to me one year)  and a couple of cheap guitars (Tele-copy and a Fender Telecoustic).I've picked up over time.  I'd love to be a lot better but I think it's one of those things better started when you're a kid.   That wasn't in the budget in the day so....

I don't plan to use it indoors - I've already ran the appropriate 20 amp wiring so I can MIG weld in my back yard.

The truck's an '89 so if I could find/make a "Ron Paul '88" sticker I might be inclined to put it on next to a "Goat Ropers Need Love Too," sticker.

That's about my limit for stickers on trucks though.

It's called a Gothic Radius and it's made by Factory Metal. Most of what they made was garbage that catered to the brutalz metal market but the Gothic Radius is a hell of a cymbal.

The 23" I've got is pretty much the best washy ride I've ever heard and the one I've ordered is a 26". It lacks a bell and it's basically thin aluminum too so if you really hit it hard you can get some interesting helicopter like rhythm noise. Very unique really

It's really weird, I don't think anyone has ever really done an aluminum cymbal otherwise
