I appreciate that. I mean, they say change starts at home and all..... Why at we having protests at the mall when we can't keep it out of our living rooms?

I think a lot better parenting, a lot less media, a little less religion, and a lot more individuality would help the people of this country. Especially the younger (my generation) generation.

^^^ Well said.

For me, it all started in third grade with some girl telling me that “if I loved her, I’d give her my Cup Cake”. Really, somehow you’ve been empowered to draw conclusions about my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs based on the criteria of your choosing…fascinating.

Roll the clock forward many decades and now I'm being told that if I don’t stand behind blacks that are flagrantly breaking the law, I’m a racist. Really, somehow you’ve been empowered to draw conclusions about my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs based on the criteria of your choosing…fascinating.

I think O.J. was the start.

Not guilty because we were afraid of the riots that might happen.

I disagree. The prosecution team dropped the ball on OJ more than anything else IMO.

It's worked so far. Why change, right?

nope … O.J. found not guilty because the prosecution berkeleyed up the case … nothing more, nothing less

It did seem to start around the time of OJ though. A lot of people felt like they had gotten one over on the system. I remember making a delivery with my dad in Jamaica hearing people cheering they had won then getting real quiet when they saw two white guys come by.

I was a little uncomfortable Saturday at work when word started to spread that two cops got shot and the crowd of kids hustling tourists burst out with the same excitement and enthusiasm which turned into all out glee when word came out that they died. "Two down too many to go" a few said. I have worked and lived in a lot of rough areas and was never as unsettled as I was this week. I'm very glad I didn't become a cop.

So if they murder all the cops, just who the berkeley are they gonna call when someone lights em up? Pretty sure street gangs aren't what they used to be in protecting their neighborhood....

Oh so the random killings they're sure its only bad cops. Thats good. I would hate for innocent hard working men and women to get murdered randomly out of misguided bias and rage.

Many people think that to prevent racism black neighborhoods should only be patrolled by black officers. This becomes an issue because you can't and shouldn't assign someone work based on their race. If you were the black officer you'd be angry if you had to spend your whole career in BedStuy or the South Bronx while some new white kid was guarding Taylor Swift building making sure I didn't steal anymore of her underwear.

So, to prevent racism they want to..... Separate whitey from the black man? Now correct me if I'm wrong, but there's this word out there.... Se...segre...segregation! That's it! That minorities, specifically black people fought not all that long ago and martin Luther king Jr died for to abolish...because racism and they want it back? Am I missing something?

And just what is this "racism" stuff? Are we supposed to believe that every person is identical to every other person on the planet? That's stoopid. Are we to assume that people of different races are all the same? That's stoopid too. You don't go looking for sickle cell anemia in Scandinavians, for example. There's a reason that people are grouped into different races. Because THEY ARE DIFFERENT. Yes, we all have the same number of chromosomes (normally) and we can all interbreed, like dogs, but we are all different. American Indians are not the same as Australian Aboriginals. They are different. ZOMG, DAT BE RAYSIS.

Anyway, as long as there is a box on a government non-healthcare form that asks for your race, there will never be equality, which is what I think everyone would like.

The future is going to suck.

How are we going to have these conflicts once the future humans are so interbred that we're all a lovely shade of "office neutral".

Detroit tried that in the 70s, it went poorly.

And on top of all the other reason just listed in the thread why this this is a bad idea...

The whole idea that this type of segregation would stop "brutality" just doesn't work. When you have a young black man who has worked his ass of to land a job as an LEO, then you throw him into the hood to work, he gets tired of the E36 M3, and bad things happen.

Until people realize that the difference is not color but in how people choose to live their lives we can't fix anything. Some people have decided to opt out of becoming members of society and the ones who do go on to become law abiding productive citizens are looked down on as sell out. I hear people told that they forget where they came from. They generally haven't they just don't want to stay where they were.

I've never forgotten where I came from.

That's why I do my best to make decisions that ensure I won't be back there any time soon.

If not having to choose between paying the electric bill and buying food makes me a sellout, I'm fine with being a sellout.

I like not living in a trailer.
