Just saw the news.
Just saw the news.
Just came to post this. Sad stuff. 78 isn't a bad run for someone who lived that life, but still. Early in my formative guitar years a remember reading an interview with him and Page. I must have read that 10 times over the years. I still have the issue of GW somewhere. RIP

This link directed me to a Ferrari F40 for sale which in some ways cheered me up because the alleged cause of death was bacterial meningitis and that's a tough way to go.
Tough one to take. Whenever I watched videos of him play, it was always awe-inspiring. Annoyed with myself for never making the effort to see him live.
Rick Beato and Tim Pierce did a nice video tribute a few hours ago.
Back in 1963 living in Tamalpais Calif. I had the distinct pleasure to listen to Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds on a battery powered old school transitor radio......at ten years of age my First ever exposure to what turned out to be the beginning of a journey of many memorable Rock n Roll ....Jazz n Bluz adventures that continue to this very day.....RIP JB

The first two Jeff Beck Group albums with Rod The Mod singing for him are fantastic.
As are Wired and Blow By Blow.
Absolutely one of the best concerts I ever attended was Jeff Beck, Argent and It's a Beautiful Day. The latter two bands are probably (and unfortunately) considered one hit wonders today, but all three performances were over the top good. It was the first time I realized how truly magical a live performance can be. The feeling of how amazing it was lasts to today.
Orlando Sports Stadium, probably about 1972.
