The Andretti Autosport team confirmed his passing after a long battle with colon cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2017.

Damn. Really sad.
He had an interesting and diverse racing career, and seemed like a really nice guy too.
Dang. I didn't even know he was sick. I met him back when he was racing with his dad under the K-mart/texaco sponsorship. Would have been early 90's. Was a good dude to me.

He was, I got to meet him many years ago when he was in the Pennzoil IndyCar
