Sad news. I always enjoyed his MW segments.

Smooth roads, Pat. RIP.
Motorweek was always on Saturdays right before Dr Who on our PBS station.
I was always glued to the TV for both.
Younger than I thought -- he looked better now than he did back in the days when I watched MW (early 1980s).
That guy taught me so much about the technology of cars when I was a teenager. RIP, Pat, and thanks for the knowledge.
Back in the 90's me relying on seven TV channels in Chicago we had one car show to watch so I would tape this show on my VCR.
I've watched it recently and it wasn't as exciting as the old shows.
Bummer.
I started watching Motorweek in the mid 80s when it was one of the only car shows on tv, and it was always good. Pat was a little dry, but he was a good teacher and I will miss him.
Pat created a multi billion dollar a year industry and was never one to boost about it. He preached the gossip of preventative maintenance in a pre quick lube world. Vehicles seriously started lasting longer, due to owners being better informed and in turn caring for their vehicles better once he hit the airwaves.
