Someone remembers! I did Dead Cat in a full-sized Jeep Cherokee at the Runoffs years ago. They poured oil on the road so that all four would spin. We were all still in our worker uniforms, people were stoked that the "officials" liked to party too.

I seem to remember pulling tufts of faux fur off the bottom of my CRX. Memories are a bit fuzzy due to all the other "activities" that occurred.

It was a good thing the burnout box was just down the road from our campsite. Oh, and our neighbors (at the "Auger Inn") were always firing-up old VW cases, along with other things.

I Googled (dead cat burnout road atlanta), and the 2nd result (1st one being this thread) was us talking about this on a GTP thread here in 2009.
