We made it safely to Columbus, but went thru pretty much every kind of weather except sunny and dry.

Be safe, it was nice to meet you.
tell us more on the rental setup - I might want to do this next time rather than stressing the wifey's Trailblazer.
3rd time I have rented a 3/4 ton from Enterprise, they now ask me if I am towing to a race or picking up a car. So much less stress than using my F700 and if it breaks they bring me another one
This time it's a Coyote powered F250, needed the 4x4 yesterday to climb a driveway, it has been comfortable and very stable. I didn't use 4x4 on the 650 miles on the road at all. My trailer is old, ugly and heavy at 3000lbs empty, the truck had no issues at all.
Costs are ok, I just accept I will be paying for extra mileage, so I make it work from the minute I get it.
Comparing the two Rams and the Ford, mileage, comfort, stability seems to be a wash. Wouldn't be disappointed to own either
I had to rock the car out of my driveway in 5" of snow with AWD and Fuzion UHP tires; these things are E36 M3. Stopping was exhilarating.
