At least here in Florida, Rush tickets went on sale this morning.
Saw a pretty badass rockumentary on Paladia about them - had some great dialogue with Geddy, Niel, and the other guy as well as some music peeps like Billy Corgan, Gene Simmons, and Kirk Hammett...was a lot of fun to watch, and listen to
The Philly show went on sale a couple weeks ago. Snagged a pair on pre-sale.
New album goes on sale June 12th.
The rockmentary 4Cyl Fury is talking about is Beyond The Lighted Stage. Yea it's pretty good.
I'm still pissed he called that girl a slut......and he hasn't been as entertaining since he got off the pills anyhow........
ah, not the bloated windbag......the kickass Canadian rock band.

You mean Triumph?
I hear they are today's Tom Sayer...
I saw something on them. It said there was one album ( 2112? ) that had such complex songs that they could only perform the songs during that tour.
I'm determined to see them this time around. I've been putting off seeing them for years, and they are getting up there in age. I did the same thing with Ronnie James Dio, and now he's not around to go and see him.
BTW...

One man's "complex" is another's E36 M3ty lyrics. Maybe they couldn't play them anywhere else except that tou because you have to be high, in a closet with a black light and some glow in the dark E36 M3 to listen to it.
the trouble with the maples
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade
Baaaarf!!! Every one of their songs is exactly the same. I have to turn of the radio whenever Rush comes on.

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound.
It's got wires that vibrate and make music!
What can this thing be that I've found?
Okay, it's not Dylan--but it's alright.
I saw the all the worlds a stage tour at Maple leaf gardens when I was 15, then saw them again in 81. A few years ago they had an anniversary show of some sort in Toronto, so I took my wife, kids and few of their friends. None of us are really Rush fans, but we all enjoyed the show.
Saw them with Primus in the 90's. It was a good show, but I've always felt they lost their edge after Moving Pictures.

I am pretty sure it was the musical arrangements, not the lyrics.
You probably should listen to some early REM stuff... then you can make up your own lyrics...
Seen them twice. Always a fantastic show. Up there with Story of the Year in showmanship. Always liked those kinds of concerts.

I really think that happens to just about everyone, though. I still recall an interview I read (can't recall where) with Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) a few years back. She said that when she was young, the music was important, but nowadays it was just like having a really cool hobby.
If that doesn't explain the difference between "Precious" and "I'll Stand by You", nothing does.

No thanks. REM, Rush and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are all instant channel change queues for me.

just when I thought I had your sarcasm all figured out, you go and post something so nonsensical, it must be sarcasm, and now i have to start trying to understand you all over again.
Next time, try to keep the sarcasm a little easier to understand...for a moment I thought you were trying to say you dislike REM, Rush, and RHCP...which ...is obviously not the case...right ... right...hello? ...Bueller?
Oh well...to each his own I suppose
First real concert for me somewhere around 1977? 1978?
"2112"
Best. Band. Ever.
Saw them twice on the Time Machine Tour. Moving pictures live was amazing and the encore was 'la Villa Strangiato" Amazing.

Never used illegal drugs in my life. Got searched at the Rush concert.
One of the downsides to giving up drugs is discovering that Rush aren't as good as you thought they were.

I'm still trying to figure out if "queue" (a line, or the list of shows you haven't watched yet on hulu) instead of "cue" (a signal to do something) has a hidden meaning. And what that meaning would be...
