Thats the Tail of the Dragon...
Biker apes for the camera..
Biker closes to corner without slowing as much as he should.
Biker target fixates..
Vett owner has bad day.
Biker has worse.
Full front flip was clean, just couldn't stick the landing. Sorry bud, but I can only give you a 4.2 on that.
More time watching the road, less time waving to camera
At least the vette driver has some great evidence when the rider blames him for the accident.
Wow, notice that they already made contact in pic 18 - look at the popup light past the biker's left knee.
Airbag in the vette went off too. Good thing the biker went over the top and not into the car for the driver.

I was only going to give a 3.9 due to the landing.......if landing didn't matter, I'd have to give a 8.9 on form for the flip.
Did he lean it over to the right too far, bottoming out the undercarriage, which high-sided him off towards the left into the other lane? (I'm not a biker either).

Either that or he just set up his turn wrong. He crossed over the line for whatever reason, which on this kind of a road is a big no-no.

It looks like he was leaned over as far as he could go but was crossing into the oncoming lane, and when he realized that he hit the brakes which caused the bike to stand up and go straight. If he'd just kept turning hard and maybe braking a little the Corvette would have had room to dodge him.
Wow. Numbah 1, rider mugging for the camera rather than paying attention to where he was going, numbah 2 too far back on bike (one reason I dislike cruisers and Harleys) which makes them hard to turn, numbah 3 maybe a little too much speed.
I think he's also guilty of looking straight at the thing he's trying to avoid rather than looking around the curve to where he wants to go.
Looks like the guy was too busy cheesin for the camera and mis judged the corner. Hopefully everyone was ok.
The 2 times I've been to the gap, some one died down there. That road will bite you quick if you're not paying attention.
Dude, I'd be pissed as hell if that was me. Stupid old Corvette driver getting in the way. He was probably driving too slow as well. Stupid old people in cars too fast for them getting in the way ofserious corner carvers on Harleys loaded down with gear.
You guys had time to post all these replies while I was figuring out how to hotlink to the pictures. [sigh!] I'm loosing my hotlink-fu.

the bottom pic joey posted shows it.....they deployed.....meaning nothing helped them if the vette went for a walk in the woods
I don't think the vette went into the woods. If you look at the final series of pictures you can see that the rider has stopped moving (he's rolling on the ground) and the bike/vette have both stopped moving for a few frames.
Anyone know if the photographer ever posted any more pictures after frame 28? I would imagine he probably put down the camera to go check on the rider.
