Not so sure about that. Carrion birds (especially large ones like turkey buzzards) don't seem to care much about spoiled meat. I'm pretty alligators would also munch on rotting meat w/o care.

Yup. Any reptile that stuffs a large carcass under a log for a week before finish it off would have no issues....

After living in TN for 5 years now, I've decided that if there's ever a zombie outbreak in the south, it will be the most hilarious, and glorious, event the world has ever seen. Every redneck in the region (me included) will throw a bunch of guns & ammo in a pickup truck, drive to the scene of the outbreak, and git 'er dun. Someone will throw a pig on a cooker and we'll have it under control before the ribs are done.

I'm sure most of you remember the end of the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. It was exactly that. Awesome social commentary wrapped up in zooooommbehs!
