Hi gang, may need to call on some 'willing' helpers, or at least those bribable with beer and Pizza.
On Tuesday Dec 27th we're having a new hot tub delivered by Home Depot. Supposedly it's curb side delivery. I'm planning on waving some green stuff under their noses in the hope they unload it with a mini Hi-Lo and can get them to take it around the back of the house and at least drop it on the deck. Next best scenario is get it dropped onto the trailer I borrowed from Tom Spangler and I can get it round the back on that then call on help to get it in position. Worst case scenario they literally drop it at the end of the drive and I'm SOL.
No matter what it's not's going to be possible for me to get it into the final position on my own.
This is a screen grab from Google maps of the house.

The driveway is 60' x 20', you can see the deck behind the house and the old hot tub tucked in the corner by the house. The tub is 7'x7' and sits on a concrete slab, the deck at that point is about 12" above the slab.
In this shot you can see the side gate we need to get it through. It's about 92" so there's about 4" each side to spare. I've got a sun fish on a trailer behind the garage I need to move into the back yard as it obstructs the gate opening by about a foot.

I think the most likely that they will just dump it on the trailer or at the end of the drive. I doubt that they will take it round the back as last year my wife offered some H.D. delivery guys $50 and offered to sign a waiver, but they refused to take some brick pavers around the back we were having delivered.
I know many will have to work that day so maybe after work I can bribe some of you for a lift?
In reply to Gearheadotaku:
No worries
In reply to Tom_Spangler:
Sounds like a firm commitment to me ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
We're moving next week otherwise I'd offer to help.
I'm not the strongest, but I can probably help. I'm off the whole week but will have my offspring in tow.
with the ground frozen, may roll it on some HF dollies? Some shoveling required.
Sorry Adrian working late that day!!

That's my hope, but I'm worried about 53degrees and rain on Monday.
Thanks to those who may be able to come, and also to those who would but can't. I'll monitor the situation, weatger, delivery time updates and put out an update Monday. GRM community rocks. Happy Christmas to all.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
Well, the 27th is past, it's now the 28th. WTF happened Thompson? So I said I'd get to people once I knew better what I was faced with. As with any 9:00-1:00 time slot for delivery the truck showed up right on the dot of 2:00pm
I wasn't upset as those poor dudes must have been rushed off their feet with everyone getting delivered over the holiday period. What I had no idea of until they arrived was how far they could move it for me. It turned out to be the worst case scenario in that all they had was a baby pallet truck with rollers for wheels. No go on the grass then, they couldn't even drop it into the trailer I borrowed from Tom Spangler. The other thing that had never occurred to me was that it would turn up on it's side, not flat. It makes sense for getting it in a trailer with room for other stuff. This turned out to be good for me.

So step one was to get two friends to just roll it onto the trail, I could then drive into the back yard and roll it off. We then laid it over onto two pieces of lumber. That took my wife and the mother of one of the helpers to keep it balanced. That left this.

That was yesterday afternoon and it was time to head to a movie.
So today was on my own. I pulled off the packaging, added more lumber underneath and rotated it though 90 degrees. All very easy. Then I slid it to the edge of the hole it's going in.

See the hammer on the left hand side? That's holding it right on the edge of balance. If you look at the wood sticking out on the left you can see the expanding dark shadow as it's just balancing on a slight angle.
Remove the hammer and..

From that point a bit of shoving and grunting and it's approx in position. I've left the two 2x4's for now in case of final adjustment.

Now the next quandary is the electrical hookup.
Long story short is I can do one of two things. The first is to just replace the cable to the existing breaker which is outside. Not too difficult. The Second and probably better method is to go back to the interior fuse box and run a whole new line from a breaker in the main internal box.
I can do the first myself, the second I wouldn't tackle so I'm going to get a couple of quotes for an electrician to do it. TBD. Hopefully be in literal hot water by the new year.
Is the new hot tub bigger than the old one? I wonder if your wire size needs to change...
I may know an electrician that can help ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/wink-18.png)

Can you see them now? Damn I hate Google Photo's compared to Picasaweb.

Indeed I am. I even have a license in MI. Let's do talk!
If I can't do it myself I can arm you with enough information to keep you from being taken to the cleaners.
Edit: I'll send you a PM.
