OK dorks, I've already seen Rush but I'm sure as hell gonna see it again. It's out this Friday. How about a GRM GTG to see it Saturday. Novi was suggested as reasonably central and that's cool with me. There was also talk of food before or after, you guys hit up the tilted kilt without me last time and I'd be open to viewing the sites there myself. The E-magine site isn't showing movie times for Sat yet that I can find, but who's in?
EDIT: See post 11 lower down. We're changing the day to Monday Sep 30th
I'd love to, but racing at WHRRI. Not sure what my schedule will be yet or how much maintenance the car will need before Sunday.
Novi's sort of on the way back from Waterford, no problem. What run group are Miata's in?
BTW I'm happy to pull this together, but if I win the pop up that 914Driver is bidding on for me I'll have to duck out and drive to Albany NY instead.
I'm in! What works better for folks, afternoon or evening? I'm flexible.

I'm probably gonna try to catch it with the local SCCA guys.
I'll keep it in mind, have too many things in the air right now to commit.

If anyone feels inspired after the movie I can get Niki Lauda and James Hunt lithograph prints and tees by Nicolas Hunziker, I see them in stock now, but my guess is that they will sell out quickly as the movie gets momentum. I can't sell below listed retail but for locals Michigan sales tax will be much cheaper than shipping and you can see in person before you buy. I would just need to know soon so I can get an order in.

Not commiting, but how much for Hunt in XL?
89% on Rotten Tomatoes! Come on guys, you know you want to see this!
OK Guys, not been drumming up many takers. Also I've discovered that I have a family commitment on Saturday so talking to Tom we're going Monday instead. That's Monday Sep 30th in Novi. Dinner first.
All you possible maybe's, how’s that suit you instead?
i am nowhere near you. but its good to hear that it is a good movie. the commercials seem a bit dramatized and had me worried.
I'm in for Monday, but can't we just watch it online while we paddle a canoe?

Hell I'm up for watching it in or out of a personal watercraft, but even if you paddle you want to see it on the big screen and be totaly imersed in the sound.
I could sort of make that happen actually. My neighbor hosts a movie night on the island owned by the neighborhood association. Big inflatable screen and huge speakers. Folks sit in lawn chairs or anchor their boats and watch drive in style. A little late in the year now though.
Tilted Kilt for pre-movie food/beer/scenery?

Thank you for volunterring to host/organize next summers GRM regional BBQ/PArty/Movie night on the lake. We'll start with Grand Prix, the Senna and finish up with Rush. Well done that man

It would be rude to disapoint you
Also, before you get all hot and bothered about James Hunt being super cool playboy man, you should know that after F1 he was an avid breeder of parakeets, keeping as many as 300 at a time in a specially made aviary of his own design. Literally hundreds of parakeets.
Just sayin'.
In reply to LainfordExpress:
He was English, therefore they were called budgies! And they do appear in the movie in the 'at home' shots
What time?
And it's funny, just today I was thinking how much I hated novi!

We'll see what the show times are and plan accordingly.
Times for Monday are 5:00, 8:00 or 11:00 pm. 5:00 seems too early and 11:00 too late. So I vote for 8:00pm showing and meet at the tilted kilt at 6:00 for din dins?
Sounds good to me. I'll be at the bar with Guiness in hand!
