So... you can add Lancia to the long list of orphan car brands.

While their recent products have been pretty ugly and awful, I used to like their stuff growing up. I still want one of these:
And there's no denying the awesome that is the Stratos:

I fear that I will make the Lancia Scorpion mistake some day.
makes sense, lancia had basically become another badge engineered brand, and they had all of that they could stand now that they have chrysler.

Still such a great looking car.

Sad, but at least the Stratos lives on... in a way...

I would love to make that mistake. It probably wouldn't be the worst one I've made.
And on the bright side, the orphan cars shows are getting better every year
I am kind of surprised it took this long, they really have not had anything very good in a long time. The last Lancia I remember is the Thema with the Ferrari motor in it.
Does this mean the Pininfarina Stratos can be built now that Lancia's lawyers are unemployed?
I knew it was only a matter of time when they threw the Delta badge on this atrocity...

Fiat's bond rating was reduced to junk status in 2009 and has been burrowing ever deeper since then. Eliminating a money pit like Lancia should have been done years ago.
This can't be a surprise.

I would buy one.
As for the Delta, I will own one. JDM ones are LHD, and the Evo3 version has been importable into canada for years. Expensive though $15-$20k.
The Top Gear special on Lancia was enlightening, they were innovators in many ways. Their latest Lancia Thema was eerily familiar though...

Crap, now I have to buy a Lancia to go with my Pontiac and AMC. One day I hope to own nothing but orphans (so sell the 5, not Mazda goes under). Anybody have an Oldsmobile, Mercury, or Plymouth for sale?
In reply to Javelin:
I have a Yugo for sale. does that work?

Lancia hasn't been even remotely interesting since they were swallowed up by FIAT in what, the late 60s or early 70s?

Sarcasm?

If I ever get a new 300, I'm totally putting Lancia badges on it.

No, not really. After the FIAT takeover, they were just tarted-up FIATs.
Now a Fulvia or Flammina, that's a Lancia.
In reply to EvanR:
Umm. What about the Stratos, 037, Delta Integrale?
didn't the stratos, 037, and delta come along after the fiat takeover? I don't think any of those were "tarted up fiats"
The last real lancia was the fulvia, which was replaced by the beta in 1974? I think. Fiat made cool stuff too, but it wasnt the same as the older lancias.

I already hate those cars. This just makes it worse. Did FiLanChryCedes not learn from the GM badge engineering of the 1980's?
I've always sorta liked these, along with the Scorpion.
