the Norwegian Coast can be a forbidding place.. This road crosses several small island and reefs and consists of 8 bridges in what has to be one of the most starkly beautiful places around.
Do not think of taking any car that rusts there,

Stunning. But man, with the ocean splashing across the road like that, it seems like one good-sized wave would sweep a smaller car right into the sea.
Looks very much like the roads in the Westfjords of Iceland.
Pic from my trip last fall:
If you look down the road at this one, the road snakes around the edge of the cliffs there. Big rocks breaking up the waves on your right, big cliff on your left. My little Hyundai rental was getting seriously beaten up in this mild little non-storm.
Totally amazing and otherworldly experience.

yeah, it does look like that...
beautiful road, though.

pfft.. as a Minnesotan, i know how the Vikings operate..you'll get close to doing it and build up a bunch of hype and false hope and then forget how to rape and pillage right when things get real.
Finally got to see it. Nice video, but honestly nothing I haven't seen in the US, especially along various coasts.
Mmm sorry but I live in coastal BC and that is still pretty dang spectacular.

Same thoughts here. It looks like a giant, unsafe version of that water log ride at various six flags parks.

Not saying it's not spectacular, just saying that spectacular happens in the US as well.
