I was using Power2Go but they upgraded the software and I can't get it to work.  Tried reinstalling but no dice.  Dunno if I'm using the wrong hardware/discs or what.  Any suggestions on what to use to burn CD's from audio on my Windows desktop?

Windows should be able to do it natively.  What version do you have?

Wait, are you ripping or burning? For ripping, I've used CDex for many years, still works fine. For burning, I think Windows can do it.

Just to pile on to the question, what data bases for cd info aren't crap? Last couple of times I have ripped cd's the finished file have incorrect info. I tried Windoze Media Player (or whatever it is called now), Exact Audio Copy, & Music Bee?, but the same cd's wind up with the same incorrect or foreign song titles, etc. I'm assuming it is the data bases being used for metadata have wrong or foreign language info. Any way to get correct data in English short of typing it all in & not using the databases? I have a E36 M3 ton of cd's I'd like to rip to flac...

VLC media player seems to be good at most anything.  Not sure about the song DB, but I am sure it has one.

Its been around a long time, good program.

I use MediaMonkey for ripping, tagging, and syncing to my iPhone.  It has multiple plugins for tagging.  It used to use freedb for the initial taggin of an album when you inserted the CD, but freedb shut down recently.  It has a plugin to use the Discogs website for tagging and embedding cover art.  You can rip to wave, mp3, flac, mp4, ogg.  It is very flexible.

I'm ripping from a CD I bought (honest!) and downloading to my desktop with the desire to make an extra copy for my car and boom box.

I've been using FreeRip.  It's free but I liked it so much I purchased a license.  Licensed copies run faster.
