My buddy in the tech said this- I was a huge android fan because cheap phones and garage and my idiotic ability to kill phones-

-Apple phone is the product (windows at the time too)

-Android/google phone = YOU are the product. This is why they are so cheap with similar specs

not a salesman, or anything else, but damn when you look around and really see what's going on, the google behemoth is looking at EVERYTHING. I'm uncomfortable with that.

I'm thinking about getting off cricket ($100 for 5 lines on the AT&T network- flawless so far) for T-Mobile for the international stuff. and the probability that they will merge with Sprint- similar deal.

I deleted a E36 M3_LOAD of pics yesterday, then removed them from “recently deleted” folder.

This morning I wake up to an “iphone storage full” message. WTF!?

Going through the storage, I realized at some point one of my buddies, who is an shiny happy person, subscribed me to a bunch of freaking podcast that were eating up A THIRD OF MY STORAGE....so at least that problem is solved.

In reply to Teh E36 M3 :

Apple is collecting your usage data etc. too. At least Google is transparent about it.

Honestly, they aren't. Flagship-spec phones cost north of $1000 no matter which OS they run. The difference is that there ARE dirt cheap Android phones, but their specs are by no means similar to a flagship.

But it's certainly true that you are the product with Google. But that also applies if you run Google stuff on an iPhone, like Google Photos, Gmail, if you use their search, etc. And besides, it's not like Apple isn't looking at everything you do, too. It is a bit disconcerting, but for the convenience and functionality, it's worth it, for me at least. Totally understandable that others might feel differently, though.
