And you can read about the frame on the 911 here: How driving 2 hours can take you back to 1984.

I googled this one. Found the website, "Patina Research". I love their IG page and didn't realize they had merch! Ordered some stuff
Is there any place that makes small run license plate frames (like ones and twos) or would this be a job for a 3D printer and dipping the face on wet paint?

There are a bunch of people on Esty making them :)
But does anyone have a 3D printer file for a plate frame that has areas to put text ?
A US license plate frame would be outside the work envelope of a lot of (most?) consumer-grade 3D printers and would likely have to be printed as components.
My contribution:
I traveled to Iceland in 2019 and completed a milestone life goal in the strongman world. Namely, I picked and carried the Húsafell stone "fullsterkur" around "The Folds," the sheep pen where it lives. To commemorate the event I chose the license plate FLSTRKR but kept getting questions as to whether I was a Florida Striker (no) or Florida Streaker (definitely not). Hence, the explanatory license plate frame.

I found a place that did custom designs I saved as a possible merch item for my Star Wars group. I'll get it tonight after work.
I can honestly say I've never had one. Anything that covers the date or state is an invitation for a traffic stop.
In reply to Toyman! :
My license plate corroded away from the mounting bolts and fell off at a car wash last month. I need a license plate frame to sandwich the plate in place.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
I can only imagine how fast a license plate corrodes. Ours are so cheap and thin, that they wouldn't make a good beer can.
I don't have a photo but I have a frame from David Hobbs BMW. One of these days I may put it on my car.

I had one of these on my 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II in high school. My uncle worked for NASA in the 60s and then Rockwell in the 80s. I still have a couple of them left.
In reply to Woody (Forum Supportum) :
My uncle worked at Grumman in the 80s. I had shuttle stickers on everything for a while
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) :
Growing up, all the cool kids had F-14 Tomcat stickers on their binders. (I wasn’t a cool kid, but I believe Grumman was like the biggest employer on Long Island at the time.)
Somewhere floating around I still have the frame that was on my trans am in high school. "My other ride is your daughter" That didn't help with tickets when I was younger and now that I'm 40 it's just creepy.
