Had the GT for 36 years. By far the longest commitment I have made to anything in my life.

Anyone else have any of these Chinese obligations?

I've had my Jensen Healey for 15 years now, no end in sight. Had the Trooper for 12 years, same time for my '72 MGB. No pix of the B available, unfortunately.

I had the '67 Le Mans (see Curtis73's build thread) as a major part of my life for 48 out of my 50 years on the planet. I was 2 when dad bought it new for mom, I grew up in it, and it officially became mine in about 1982. I finally passed it on to a new loving caretaker, because it looked so lonely and sad sitting in my garage waiting to be driven.

I've owned my 2003 TDI wagon for 12 years. By far the longest I've owned any car.

I need to check my records, but I think ownership of my crusty 1800ES project is approaching 10 years.

I still have my 1955 Chevy 1500 pick up. Got it in 1987 from my Grandfather. Sadly I hardly drive it these days. 28 years. Whew.

Does this one count?

My parents bought it new 1991, and today I drove it to the office.

Longest for me otherwise is the Miata--bought it in 1998 and still have it.

My longest so far is my Mini, which I bought in January of 2004, which is no time at all compared to some of you.

EDIT: My second longest is my Miata. Bought it in 2005 and still have it.

I've had my current DD for 3 years, which I think is a record. I wouldn't mind having it for another 3. Or 10.

Changing cars sucks.

I have had my 1970 F100 for 16 years now. I am helping my son restore it, and he will at some point own it with the provision that I have first option if he wants to sell it. Its not really collectible, but I just like the idea of generational ownership. I bought it from the son of the man who bought it new.

I've had the FB for close to 15 years.

This was right after a paint job. I was still installing lights and trim.

She's suffering through a period of neglect and a blown engine at the moment and could be bought for way less than challenge money.

I think my current record is... The Escort. Or what's left of it. Believe we're at about 6.5 years.

Bought the MX6 in June 2009, so that would be my second place.

Sold my 69 Midget after 25 yrs. I've been having a continuous sad since. So much work. So much blood. So many tears, before and after the sale. I'm 38 and that's the longest I've had anything.

I've had my '60 Mini since Oct '87. It's current status is that of my avatar, since '06. Eventually, someday, I'll get it back together and on the road, again.

Got my first car - a Miata - in January 1993. I've still got it, after various adventures. In fact, it became legal to import into the US today!

It's gone now, but I owned this '77 CB550F Super Sport for nineteen years.

My 69 Mustang has been mine for 40 of it 46 year life. My daily driver has only been mine for 13 years.

I bought my 1968 Kawasaki W2SS in 1976. It's in a thousand pieces at the moment, but it's still mine.

Had this since 1998. Been tempted to update to something newer that doesn't mind cold weather then I remember that I too hate cold weather. I guess we're a match made in heaven or something.

Only thing I've had longer:

The stainless Rossi on the right. Folks bought that for my 21st b-day. December I turn 40.... so you do the math.

My GTV (to the left), we've had since '96. Still have a few more years until we are over 50% of the ownership life.

My 77 power wagon, grandpa bought it new and my grandma gave it to me when he passed away. So 1994 or so? I don't have any pictures of it because it is still sitting on the farm in south central iowa where it has always been. We used it for a hunting/fishing/whatever rig and I'm not sure what we will do since the farm is sold and it's not worth moving it all the way out here.

I usually average about 9 months per car...
