I even found myself googling it last night, because I am so positive I remember it.
Weird.

I thought I even remembered a snippet of the trailer where he's standing at a doorway on the front porch of a house, camera 90 degrees to his left side, and he says something funny and walks through the door. Such a specific memory of a movie that didn't exist.
I feel like I've stepped into the Twilight Zone. How many people are walking around with false memories about genie movies?! I am certain that someone has been messing with the space time continuum.

Lots, but we are not supposed to talk about that stuff.

Totally freaky, right? The only difference between me and the "shazaam-ers" is that when I heard it didn't exist, I believed it and chocked it up to random synapse activity. There are tons of people out there who believe it existed with every fiber of their being and will tell you all about the conspiracy to conceal it.
I think some people could use an acid trip or two. Once you realize how tenuous what we agree upon as "reality" really is it's easier to accept your brain as deeply fallible.

Also, thanks for the reminder of my childhood and burgeoning awareness of my sexuality. Barbara Eden FTW! (I saw it in reruns, I'm not that old.)
If you told me Sinbad made a genie movie, I'd probably believe you at face value since I don't know if you'd be right or wrong. If my curiosity was strong enough, I'd Google it.
One of the first things I was taught in journalism school: The "truth" changes. Often. So I never really accept anything I read or hear as being "true".

This is why I love cameras at work. I can go to an incident, interview 5 different people and get 5 different accounts of what happened then watch the videos for a 6th completely different version.
