I did a little shopping while up in Michigan for the Porsche Parade. Thank you, Dean, for making an acoustic that's truly metal.

You may have to get some Cossack boots.

It does look a little like a balalaika. Plus, opportunity to link Red Elvises!

Not sure something like that would even fit in my car.

In reply to David S. Wallens:

That is a sure indication that you need a band van.

Actually, I'm not 100% certain that balalaika would fit in my van if the rest of the gear were in it...

Missing from my earlier post: congrats on the new guitar! Does it play/sound good? Certainly looks bitchin'... Even these guys might be okay with it: Metalcoustic commentary

How would that not fit in a Miata?

That looks like something the Nelson twins would have rocked circa 1990.

Nice score!

You know, I only played it for a few. We were on a tight schedule while in Michigan, and this weekend I had to paint my house. Our local guitar store is closed on Mondays, so I'll stop by tomorrow and get a strap. I can say that playing it without a strap is a bit challenging.

IIRC, I tried playing a flying v with my right knee (right handed) in the 'v' so to say... and it was mostly comfortable.

That's how i used to play my V's sitting down (I've owned a few - three in fact, all since sold). Some companies put a grip strip on the body so it doesn't slide so easily. Another option is the folding gadget Steinberger puts on their minimalist guitars and basses.

Congrats on the acoustic V. It looks like Dean doesn't make it anymore.

And curse you for reminding me of the Cadillac series. I've always wanted one of those...

I know! And they're CHEAP too. The one above is from their "semi-custom-shop-sort-of-line" and it's a grand (also seems to be the only way to get one with a Floyd if you're a wannabe shredder like me). The standard models are $600. I'm having a VERY hard time not hitting the "add to cart" button. Not being a fan of that color is what's holding me back. If it were a sunburst or black, I'm not sure I could do it...

It's not like I really need another guitar... but I've wanted one of these since Steve Clark played one in the video for "Me and My Wine." (He's also the #1 reason I play a Les Paul with a Kahler)
