Did you play as a kid? Do you still? Any particular rules from your region that seem "right and natural" as opposed to other areas' rules that are "weird and alien"
Convertibles and one headlight out (padiddle) are worth two. No punch backs.

The rare and elusive cop car padiddle is worth 5.
If you don't call the color, it doesn't count.
Haven't played in a while, but I think it'll be fun when the kiddo gets bigger.
Wife and I play whenever we're in a car together. The kid goes spastic and starts hitting you with every car or truck or bus he sees, he's not allowed to play.
We usually called them Punch Buggies, but Slug Bug was not unknown.
The worse problem was padiddles. Where I grew up if you were sitting next to a person of the opposite sex, you kissed on a paddidle. Where my wife grew up, you slapped the other person. Our first few encounters were confusing and painful.
It was Punch Buggy around here.
If by "Regional Rules" you mean "in my car when I was in high school and there was a girl next to me" and you saw a VW Bus, Punch Buggy became Buggy Bus, and the punch became tickling. If everything went well, you might have to pull over.
Oddly enough, I have never been to prison.
Punch Bug, Focus Pocus, Cadillac Smack, Hearse Curse (but only if it was solo, not in a funeral procession) are some that I can remember playing with my daughters. We played for points, though, not hits. Helped keep them looking out the windows, and not pestering each other - "she's touching me" "she's looking at me" "she's breathing on me"
Slug Bug I know. The color has to be called, and the person slugged should be wearing an article of clothing in the same color.
I have never heard of padiddle before, but the way that was played by some of you sounds awesome.
Slug Bug. Color must be called. Double slugs if the bug is air-cooled, convertible, or is painted the slugger's favorite color.
Extra slugs are cumulative. So if your favorite color is red and you see a red convertible air-cooled bug, you get to deliver eight slugs!
I remember another variation on this from middle school, but only played by the boys. You would make a circle with your thumb and index finger and if someone looked at it, the result was a very violent punch in the shoulder. A closed hand circle was five punches, a two hand circle was ten punches and a rare two arm circle was either 25 or 100. As the circles got bigger, they were easier to spot out of the corner of your eye and thus harder to catch someone's direct eye contact.
We spent a lot of time punching each other at my school.
In reply to Woody:
Never heard of that until the 2003 Challenge. It was a long weekend and the V8 Vair suffered many failures. A certain Challenger took it upon himself to play that game with me once too often and was quite surprised by the double-leg takedown with shoulder in gut passing to full mount. But that's way off-topic.
It was Punchbuggy growing up in MD, but I learned it from a kid who grew up in Central PA. We also had the Perdiddle rule, but no add-ons for color or convertible.
Here in the Detroit area, my kids call it Slugbug and the only add-on is Yellowcar which can also be called independently of Slugbug. I have unsuccessfully lobbied for the Ragtop add-on.
It was slug bug for me, but punch buggy for SWMBO - which seems weird since we grew up in the same small town...I need to ask her about that.
Punch Buggy for us. Padiddle too! Never heard of "slug bug" until reading this thread.
And then there was the "door knob" game, but that one's a bit stinky.
My wife has extended the slug bug game to include MINIs because she likes MINIs. We play "yellow car" too. Rental trucks, taxis, and school buses don't count. Kids in our neighborhood also play yellow car. It's fun to watch them punch each other when we drive by in the yellow Focus

Heh. I used to carry a doorknob in my jacket when I was a kid. Never had to say safety
Slug bug was a bit too much for us, we would have been constantly bruised. My pops never had less than 10 VW beetles in the driveway and everywhere we went we were in one.
I do remember people punching each other when we would drive by.
