Turkey Day. Black Friday sales. It seems the focus isn't on Thanksgiving, but it should be. Are we a bunch of selfish, unappreciative louts?
Of course not. Take a minute today to think about how good you've got it, how much you appreciate your wife, kids, parents, and friends, and tell them how much they mean to you.
Leave it to us to spend an entire day being thankful for what we already have, only to follow it up the next day with punching someone to snag the last flatscreen on sale.
I need to go to the big orange box store tomorrow to get something to fix my faucet and I'm not looking forward to it.
I'm thankful for all of you nutjobs. I'm thankful for my wonderful family with whom I just spent the day. I'm thankful for my dog. I'm thankful that I have food in my belly while some don't.
Thankful to live in a free country and have a very good life! Things could definitely be much worse.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I hope (and I think) that despite the klaxons, shouting, and constant advertisement, what people think and feel is saner than it looks on all the screens. Quiet gratefulness is hard to capture.
My cup runneth over like crazy in many ways; I'm thankful for all the wonderful people and general dumb luck that make where I am what it is.

I'm grateful for just about everything in my life.
Abraham Lincoln - 1863. Proclamation making Thanksgiving the third Thursday of November (it used to be all over the map).
"On that day let us gather in sanctuaries dedicated to worship and in homes blessed by family affection to express our gratitude for the glorious gifts of God; and let us earnestly and humbly pray that He will continue to guide and sustain us in the great unfinished tasks of achieving peace, justice, and understanding ..."

In reply to Duke :
I agree.
I am thankful that all the berkeley ups in my life did not ruin my life but made me who I am.
I'm thankful to be on the green side of the sod and for the many friends I have made through this forum. Life is good.
