since they gave me the day off work paid, i decided to do nothing... then i found this for sale on facebook 25 miles from me and figured it was worth the drive for the $10 the guy was asking:

side note: anyone know anything about the Tubular Micrometer Company and the quality of their tools? i know it's somewhat local to me but that's about it.. i'd never heard of it until i saw the ad for this..
Ahhh... 40. The halfway point. Only 40 left... and they are the shorter ones too so no more berkeleying around if you want to conquer the world and enslave all of humanity (sorry... projecting my own goals... do whatever YOU want until I get mine).
