And the new owner picks it up tomorrow :(. It hurts to see it go, but with the sale of it my student loans and minimal credit card debt disappear which makes me a man of no debt. Great for starting a family and so on. A tear will drop though when the keys are handed over. Haven't been on the forum in a while, but I'll be back in full force now that I'll be mulling a new project and def want some of Team GRMs input.

Serious congratulations on being debt free. It would be very hard for me to part with an awesome car like that but worth it to not owe anyone anything.

We have everything except for the wifes car paid off. Can't wait until we are debt free.

You're in a position that few Americans ever achieve.

Getting married and a kid on the way, there really was no other option and that sucks, but like I said it'll give me something new to play with in the future. It just sucks selling it being that it's always been completely paid off and I've never owed a dime on it :(

Maybe pick up a clean G8 down the road a bit. Kid seat will fit in the back and you can keep your avatar.

Nice work on getting debt free. Losing your car will be worth it in the long run, if you do the math. (I don't know what that math actually is, I'm just trying to make you feel better )

I hope to be debt free (except for my mortgage) in a year or two years. Then bang away at that house payment! I'm trying to free up money to start a family too...

Man, I feel for you. I don't think I would have had the guts to let that car go, though...

Congrats on being debt free, and on the upcoming marriage and baby! Sounds like you have your priorities in line, there will always be time for toys later on. With all the changes going on it your life, you'll never regret starting off on a more solid financial foundation. And just think, all of the time you spent on the car can now be focused on your family!

Debt free, the only way to live! Congrats on that.

Cars come and go, there will be others.

I want that!

(the debt free, not the car.)

(although I'd certainly take the car, but it would not help the debt thing...)

I'd have kept it....take a little longer to get debt free, but once you lose a car like that and start a family it's a lot harder to get it back..

Also "think of the children" lol. I'm semi joking, but when my Dad got married he had a 68 GTO, he then traded that for a 71 or 72 Camaro, and after that it was all boring family cars. I can't tell you how much I wish he would have hung onto that GTO to pass down to me and I can only imagine the awesome time we could have had together with it. Dont get me wrong, my Dad is awesome and we did plenty together, but I was born a gearhead and something like that would just be incredible.....a car with that kind of family history. I even tried to track the GTO and Camaro down at one point, but there was just no info to go by.....any documentation had burned up in a house fire.

I backed out on the sale for the weekend, when the time came to go to the bank/DMV to sign over the title, I pussed out. I feel horribly for the kid who was going to buy it but with selling the GRM Civic as well this week I had fears of not having anything to tinker around with! Chances are I'll likely still sell it but I need these couple of days to mull it over.

Being debt free would be awesome, but at the same time this car is paid off, I don't owe a cent on anything that is on it, and frankly I was selling it for a steal ($10k). Growing up and decisions suck!

I know how you feel. I sold my Spit 6 a few years ago in a bought of debt-driven anxiety. I had sellers remorse within a year. It worked out in the end as I bought a nicer GT6 last year. And although I again borrowed to buy it, I was diligent and paid it off in less than a year.

See I know that there is the incentive of a new project and getting to do something completely new, it's just this thing is so damn nice. When I started on the project I drew it out on a piece of paper and it came to fruition exactly how I imagined it. Maybe I'll win the lottery tonight and won't have to worry about it.

And it's gone it hurt to see it go but the kid that got it was elated so at least I know it's going to someone who's gonna enjoy it. The garage is looking very empty, 95 Challenge Civic is gone and the Trans Am. S2000 track car might be next project?
