I've not been much for the forum lately. Things have felt a bit stale and artificial what with the 47 E36 M3show and Muskrat the Nazi going absolutely ham on the federal government without any sort of restriction.
I get it, the GRM community is supposed to be a neutral space but this is a whole different level of wrong. At this point I don't see a recognizable country left in 2028. And if Project 2025 has it's way on the matter, we won't be allowed to vote on it by then anyway.

Yep, the only thing we have left is to quote song lyrics.
Song by
Ozzy Osbourne
All aboard! Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa!
Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay...
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
Let's go!
I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role
Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words, yeah, yeah!
Heirs of a Cold War, that's what we've become
Inheriting troubles, I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair
Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame?
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I think the egg price thread is the closest we're going to get

As passionately as you feel one way about the topic, there are other people on the forum who feel just as passionately the other way. Even if you limit it to subforums it rarely stays contained there, because people who butt heads in those subforums are often unable to prevent carrying their feelings over when encountering the same people in other threads. IMHO it will inevitably pollute and destroy any larger sense of community so cold turkey is the only way.
Perhaps one consolation to take away is that the current party in power has a razor-thin majority in the House, all of those seats are up for re-election in 2026, and the party of the Presidency usually loses seats in the mid-term elections. So there is a strong chance of a split government sooner than 2028.
To answer your question; Yes, we are.
In what world would you think this would go well?!?!
Do you really want to pollute this forum with this sort of discussion?
I am positive the owners of this forum don't.
I will leave you with the observation that people have been warning of the end of (lots of things, including the world) for most of history. Most all have one thing in common: They never happen.
Hype sells. Don't buy it.

Systems of government have ended (changed) countless times throughout history. Some for the better. Others for the worse.
But yes, I get force fed enough politics almost everywhere else. There are plenty of places I can be as engaged in such things as I want. It's refreshing to have a few precious online sanctuaries that are more focused on actually bringing people together in some positive way. Let's at least try to sustain that.
In reply to KyAllroad :
So, even though you have been here long enough to know there is a ban on political discussions, and why, you intentionally phrase it as a question, to post an extremely polarizing and inflammatory political opinion?
I would say that Cap'n Obvious has displayed EXACTLY why it should not be allowed!
Since the staff and moderators agree with that opinion, it'll probably be ok with them, but, I heard there is no bias!
EDIT:
Notice, at no point did i mention if I agree or disagree!
There is nothing stopping anyone on this forum from starting their own, separate forum or online group to discuss politics.
In reply to Nathan JansenvanDoorn :
I very much like your thinking, sir!!!
well said!!!
The rest of the Internet is already poisoned with this bullE36 M3. Keep grm free.
This is where I go to practice denial.
Everything is fine, La La La La.
Sorry, but our forum is not a place to argue about politics. Personally, to your point, we're really freaked out about what the government will look like after a few months or years of this. And professionally, the chaos and uncertainty has already cost the business time and money that I don't feel like I should be wasting. Our friends in the industry, from major OEMs to small manufacturers, have expressed the same sentiment.
But, those aren't discussions for this forum. This is a place to take a break from politics and talk about cars.
One important clarification, though: This is not a Nazi bar, and staff and moderators are empowered to keep it that way.
