My wife and I share the cooking duties in the house because we both like to cook and our tast in food can be quite different.
I am thinking of beef stroganoff for dinner. I have not made in in a while and I really like it.
So what are others planning for dinner. The weird, crazy or completely boring and normal are perfectly ok. If nothing else it will give a place to reference if we ever run out of ideas.
I was also thinking of boiled hotdogs cut up in to about 1/16" thick rounds added to Kraft mac and cheez. Season with a little tobasko to tast. How I occasionally re live my college years vicariously through food.
I'm making Maultaschen, which is a dish from the area of Germany I'm from. Think oversized ravioli with a sausage meat and spinach filling, made from scratch.
First time I'm making them, so if I'm not posting later today they're either extra yummy or I'm regurgitating them.

I do that fairly often, but instead of hotdogs I use smoked sausage

Awesome. We also make them from scratch, but can buy pre-made ones here too, although they're not nearly as good. Best with fried onions, and freshly ground nutmeg on top, but you already knew that
It's my stepdad's birthday, and we're all getting together for Thanksgiving tomorrow. He's 88 and a picky eater, but loved the Bacon explosion when I made it for a family get together, so I smoked two (one for him to take home) and also smoked two big pieces of salmon while I was at it. Tonight will be salmon with roasted asparagus and rice.
The spare BE will be cooled and sliced like lunch meat for killer sandwiches.
Dunno, but I need to figure it out soon! It's 6pm, and the wife and kids are out, so I'm bacheloring it tonight. Pretty sure the fridge is devoid of leftovers. Prolly something out of a can.
Homemade chicken noodle soup. Daughter asked for it and she is not feeling to peachy. So..here we go. Chicken is roasting.
Disappointment. Probably some pasta with ground beef.
Tomorrow I am making a stew though. So at least there is that.

I cooked a turkey, squash, yams, russet potatoes, stuffing with nuts and cranberries for my nephew home from college, and his mom for Thanksgiving.
Funny coincidence, I had beef stroganoff this evening.

Last night at a get-together I had a piece of pizza and a glazed doughnut on my plate. With apple cider. Serious single life.

red velvet cupcakes with scratch made cream cheese frosting. i made the mistake of making them prior to dinner, then ate some and forgot all about proper dinner food.

I've never seen any for sale out here, hence the idea of making them from scratch. They actually tasted pretty good, but looked a bit like a car crash. Plus the pasta dough needs work, but overall I'm happy with my first attempt.
Dukes chowder house.
Not East coast proper chowder.. but wonderful..
Salmon patties, wild rice and broccoli. It was pretty good although brocolli is hit or miss for me.
Top round and green beans on the grill. 45 mins at 300 still rare in the thick part and medium well for the wife where it tapers down. Should have enough for another meal or two.
Plus some Sam Adams seasonal variety pack since my class ended today.
