Don't they have like four patrolmen working at one time?
You mean per mile of interstate? Yeah, I'd say that's about the right ratio.

I thought they were the state that had way too few. Guess I'm discombobulated.

The percentage of Ohio based GRM Dorks would seem to support their findings

Right, tornadoes goes to a state NOT in tornado alley? I now question the rest of the labels.

I can believe "least green" for Indiana since everyone drives and mass transit is practically non-existent.

Mississippi is definitely obesity, although schools would also work.

Florida is probably id theft because old people are easier to get info from.

I do 3 mph over the limit or else you WILL get busted, ask anybody from Michigan who continues to drive at their usual velocity

Some of those things aren't too bad. If "Nerdiest state," "Oldest State" and "Porn usage" are the worst they can say about you, you're doing pretty good.

Most mobile homes? Yeah, I can believe that. The only thing SC is any good at is staying one rung up from Mississippi on everything except STD's. Onthat subject: look at who's #1 on this map.

Native Buckeye here and will attest to that. I usually ran about 6 over and have the horrible driving record to prove it.

Air pollution? More like wiping their ass with the constitution then taxing you for the privilege of being E36 M3 on.

I should tell you how I really feel about CA sometime.

I wondered who would jump on this, because the CARB rules fixed everything.

and California has nothing worse going on than Air Pollution... snicker, guffaw, chortle.

oh and wanting the rest of the US to pay for their berkeleyed up political spending policies... (mutters about growing up and paying for your own mistakes)

Michigan is good at pretending to fix roads. 1/2 get shut down for construction, and a year later are just as bad (or worse) than when they started.

In reply to aussiesmg:

You know, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I really don't have a problem with most of the rules enacted by CARB. I like clean air and water as much as the next guy so catalytic converters, evap systems, and O2 sensors are okay in my book.

What I have a problem with is that they took a flying leap over the line with the whole approved parts thing (aka CARB tax sticker or just a bribe paid to the state) and sniffer tests. It went from cleaning up the air (I approve!) to money making scheme in no time flat. After that they keep attempting to foist their regulatory scheme onto the other 49 states. There's a lot of other things wrong with this state besides air pollution.

Why can't we have the Vermont hippies which just smoke a lot of weed and make ice cream but leave you to your own devices?

Yes I took the troll bait map...

I knew it, my home state got drinking. I was going to say drinking and driving, but I think binge drinking still counts. As far as my new state, NY, I don't have a commute hardly at all, but I'm not in NYC.

A couple months ago, I was cruising along at 80mph (note: this was before Ohio raised the statewide limit to 70mph) and I come up on a cruiser just over a hill. Well, if he got me then he got me.

He pulls out. Well, maybe he got the guy in the truck ahead of me. None of us in the pack of four-five were slowing down, I think we all figured the same thing.

He paces me. Then he gets in front of me and paces me a while, felt like minutes but really only a mile or two. (At no point do I bother to slow down.) Then he zips back, gets behind me, hits the lights. At this point I'm thinking, FINALLY. Let's get this over with, I got places to go.

I was pulled over because I had no front license plate. The orbiting was him verifying that I didn't in fact have a visible plate on the car.

Strange...
