A Honda XR 650r motor should slot in and that is 50 hp out of the box with a lot more on tap.

How big is a 13b?

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Ouch, one of those is as much as the kart.
I'm thinking more power, formula fordish size tires, etc... then swap back to atv tires to play
I read the title and came here expecting to hate it. I definitely don't hate that. I hope they sell a bunch of them and then they sell for cheap when they break down, you know, just like the Chinese four wheelers. Because these would be worth rebuilding with quality components.
The only issue I see with it is the rear axle. It looks like the whole drivetrain is on a hinged cradle. Which I just don't like in general. Plus it looks like they cheaped out and the rear axle ended up being something off the shelf and the track is way narrower than the front axle. I see potential though.

How big is a snowmobile engine?
Looking into it, it seems to be an Ariel styled adult sized go-cart. I like it, but I don't think I would try to engine swap it without reengineering EVERTHING about it.
Depending on how much you want to modify things, and if you don't mind giving up reverse, I think a 4 cylinder sport bike motor would be very doable. I guess since it's not meant for street it probably wouldn't qualify for the challenge though....

You can get over 100 HP with less than 600cc if you go with a liquid cooled.
They are pretty compact if you go liquid cooled.
That fan cooled are bigger, due to fins, but don't require any external cooling. Unfortunately they have about 1/2 to 2/3 the hp of the same sized liquid cooled.
I feel like I could put a hitch receiver on that and make a compelling case for using one with my landscape trailer around the yard.
I don't like *that* thing, but looking at it, I'm sure with some tweaks they could make something pretty cool for roughly the same cost.
I'm going to wait for one to come up on CL that quit running in a year or so. Hopefully that happens, because at $500ish it's worth playing with. Maybe by that time i will find a rear ended 1.0 ecoboost fiesta at auction.
