like, for instance, the time that old Ben Kenobi gave Luke Skywalker his father's light saber:
As a kid I was always confused why Mr. Miyagi had an US Army uniform and a Medal of Honor. Didn't we fight the Japanese in WWII?
Little did I know that he fought with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team., an all Japanese American regiment that fought in Italy. They were the the most decorated unit in WWII.
They were also lead by a guy who did not like them to much apparently. He was wildly aggressive with them. They were heavily decorated, but they also suffered very heavy casualties.
In "Harold and Maude", we see Maude's tattoo. Not a good thing.
Apparently, she spent time in one of the camps.
In reply to Appleseed:
I love that Karate Kid movie but I get confused with the story line and Alice from Mel's Diner.
Then he was on Happy days at Arnold's that was Mel's Diner in American Grafitti. Or did it become Mel's Diner on Happy Days?
How about the Wizard of OZ when you discover that Dorothy had the power to go home ALL ALONG!!??!!
Glinda just sent Dorothy off to kill her sister (or get killed) over a pair of shoes!

In Raiders of the Lost Ark, there was a fight scene choreographed between Harrison Ford using a whip and the big guy with the sword. They rehearsed it multiple times, but he was sick with a 100+ degree fever, and got fed up with the rehearsals not going well.
Shooting the dude was an improv. It made the movie.
Not that dark, but humorous trivia.
also related to Raider of the lost Ark as quoted from The Big Bang Theory:
“Indiana Jones plays no role in the outcome of the story. If he weren’t in the film, it would turn out exactly the same… If he weren’t in the movie, the Nazis would still have found the Arks, taken it to the island, opened it up, and all died, just like they did.”
Indiana Jones could have taken a few days off.

Harrison Ford also was ad-libbing in The Empire Strikes Back with one of the most famous lines in the movie:
Leah: I love you!
Han: I know.
That wasn't what the script had him saying.
There is of course Luke lusting after his sister!
I am not sure how this happened since apparently Lucas had written out the entire series before the first movie. Maybe it wasn't fleshed out yet, or they wanted a bit "she's your sister" twist, so they just added it.
In MIB, J asks "Did you ever flashy-thing me?"
"No."
This was funny (he did, in fact, flashy-thing J early on in the movie) until the end of the third movie when young J saw his father get killed, and K flashy-thinged him so he wouldn't have to have that memory.

That movie is kinda dark if you watch it knowing that the "good" witch is actually the "wicked" witch, and she was trying to consolidate control over all of Oz..
Mr. Johnson from Blazing Saddles said: Fought Indians, fought drought, fought locusts, fought Dicks - remember when Richard Dicks came in here and tried to take over the town
For some reason my brain decided THIS MORNING to realize that poor "Richard" would have been named "Dick Dicks".
It wouldn't have been so bad except I was carrying car parts down to the basement.
