flat bar, roughly 1" wide and maybe 1/4 thick. The "closed" ends are cleanly finished and magnetic, but the rest of the piece is not.
Also, I can't find the thread on those mystery spikes. Can one of y'all post a link here? I have a guy who's confident he can figure it out.
Thanks all!

I don't know what that is, but I have a feeling that the magnetic properties are accidental.
In reply to Noddaz :
Very possible. The fellow who had it seemed to think it was to do with testing generators somehow... idk.
In reply to Steve_Jones :
Thanks!
Might be used to magnetize things. In that case they would need to be things that are pretty thin.
Barefoot, where did you find it?
In reply to 914Driver :
Some old timer brought it in to my work and we got chatting.
Those are nittos, and likely on backorder depending on the size.
In reply to Captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
Nah. Supply is good in this part of the country. Good eye.
I had/ have one like that, or very similar. It was in my garage when I bought this place, probably left from the old timer who lived here. Possibly from my Dad or grandfathers but I doubt that.
I may still have it as I save all metals like any good GRMer. I doubt I would have scrapped it but Dad may have on one of his scrap metal drives through my garage. I'll look in the spring when I clean up in my garage.
Looks like it could have been formed around around a T or a V. For what purpose I dunno. I'd guess 30's thru 50's.
