I didn't want to thread-jack this thread.
Question: How much interest is there for a regular photo bit in the magazine? I'm thinking that we could regularly get tips from some of the pros in the field.
Yes? No?
Thanks as always.

I have no dog in the fight per se, but topics surrounding shooting pics of a car would be more suited to CM in my opinion, theres more demand for detail and aesthetics from that crowd. Not that there arent those in the GRM circulation that areinterested in those topics, but there are probably MORE in the CM group. Just my .02
In reply to 4cylndrfury:
Unless they give tips on static and detail shots in CM , and tips on action shots in GRM .
Absolutely. I'm terrible at taking photos, but I enjoy it anyway. It goes back to highschool for me and a Pentax K1000 with a 300mm zoom lense and a doubler taking photos of the shuttle launch.
No.
There already exist many varied resources for those who wish to pursue photography. This falls almost entirely outside of the scope of a motorsports magazine beyond the most basic tenants of sports and documentary image making.
My $.02 as a retired pro photographer is that camera settings are a lot like alignment specs; no two situations will benefit from exact duplication and no two people will agree on the perfect recipe for success.
Nice idea, Thanks! I simply think that there are more relevant topics that can occupy your pages.
An article or two would be awesome, but a running bit might not be the best use of resources. I can't say much, however; I let my subscription expire.
What if the photography content was about cars? Think Surfer's Journal, etc.
I wouldn't want it to necessarily be a constant feature, but the odd photo shoot session wouldn't be a bad thing.
I would love to see some one-off articles dealing with specific aspects of automotive photography.
Perhaps one month discuss the action/drive-by shot, another month talk about static display shots (car shows and the like).
I think 3 or 4 articles over a year wouldn't saturate the non-photo people and provide enough content for those who do want to learn more.
I`m also a former professional photographer, and I have no issues with it, especially if it relates to cars and or racing. I get asked all the time how I did this or that with photos, and usually a few simple tricks with will work wonders with people's pictures.
I think it would be a neat idea... I'd say two separate... one for stills, Id imagine a lot of people could use tips for basic photo shoot of a car, little things like time of day/lighting... tips that even an iphone "photographer" user could use... then another section on action
