My son managed to hit a deer on the way home this afternoon. Managed to set off the airbags. It must have been a big deer. Also took out the headlights, hood and windshield. Luckily no major injuries. Mostly airbag burns and fat lips from his wife doing a face plant into the passenger airbag. She might also have a broken thumb. They are still there waiting on an x-ray. Now I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow is going to suck.
Glad they're for the most part unharmed. Broken thumb and burns will suck, but it's always good news to walk away from that. They'll be sore, but sore's better than a lot of things.

It will make a good story to tell once the wounds have healed. At least they got through it.
Roadside deer are almost as scary as clowns. The roads around our house are pretty much overrun at twilight, and we've had some narrow misses. (Ironically, the latest one was on the Corvair's very first evening back on the road.)
Glad everyone's basically okay.

Deer suck. I've personally only hit one, but my parents have hit a bunch over the years. Never any human injuries but the deer pretty much always bought the farm. I'm glad your family escaped without major injury. It actually sounds like the airbags may have done more harm than good in this case.
Wow, dude. Glad Kevin and the missus are OK.
Tell you what: between this deer, the 'undocumented alien' nailing him a while back and an earlier incident I don't recall the details of I ain't ever riding with him.
That boy is a crash magnet. I'm glad he decided not to drive on the Lemons team this year.
