That's a surprise!
They forgot to mention that Bleak and Darker also owns DeWalt, Porter-Cable and Delta.
I wonder if the quality of those three will go up or down. It certainly went down when B&D bought DeWalt.
Stanley also makes the Husky and Proto tool lines.
Shawn
Stanley is Mac Tools as well.
So you have Stanley, Black and Decker, DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Delta, Mac, Husky, Proto, Vidmar.
What else do they have... http://www.stanleyworks.com/

Could also be Slow But Deadly? Like the Douglas Dauntless?
I worked for The Stanley Works Co. for several years in their Access Technologies division. A lot those fancy doors you walk through at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot ect. are made by Stanley. They also own multiple companies in the lock and hardware business. Big outfit, but I absolutely HATED working for them. They suck as a place of employment!

Why is that?
Black and Decker also owned Kwickset Locks. Go find the brand name on your front/back door locks, or look at your house keys for the Kwickset name or initials KW1. Betcha 80%+ of y'all have them.

Silent But Deadly, like ... nevermind.
Good news for Stanley. All the news I have been getting out of New Britian is bleak with lots of layoffs.
I hope this doesn't adversely affect my dad's job. He works for Stanley in their IT/software programming dept.

I guess the best way to describe it is arrogance. If there was any way for the management to make you job harder they would do it. Then they would bitch that you were taking too long to do it. The regional sales guy and I finally got sick and tired of it and opened our own business doing the same thing. It was the best decision I have ever made. Due to the way Stanley treated their customers, a lot of them came with us.
edited for spelling and I probably didn't fix all of them.

Too much free food from Chipotle and Taco Bell! That was too obvious; I had to try another joke.

Just noticed that. I have a DeWalt electric screwdriver that I received as a Christmas gift last year, and have had no complaints with it whatsoever. Maybe I'm lucky?
