I can forgive a ton of faults with a movie if it can, even for a brief moment, fill me with the awe and wonder I had when 8 years old again.

I strongly suspect this movie is going to be able to do it.

As for sticking with the Cannon, if they do that, you can go do Wookiepedia and pretty much find out the plot for any movie they are going to make. The books have been published for quite some time now.

I will be there opening weekend to see this one, just like I did with II and III. Hopefully it will be a lot better than either one of those turds. I love me some Star Wars.*

*FYI I am a big Star Wars fan, but an even bigger Star Trek fan. I know way more about Star Trek than any normal person should.

I agree wholeheartedly with Yupididit---- Star Wars isn't about quality acting-- it's about the story, the special effects, and the endless hype and consumerism. The reason the franchise has thrived is that they basically invented the idea of marketing toys to kids based on a movie. The films themselves aren't the reason for it ----it's the marketing of those films to kids that grow-up entrenched in a Star Wars crazy culture.

Ahhh... I see... Star Trek fan eh?

In case you are not aware, Star Wars is this:

That's the thing, pretty much of all of the canon has been thrown out, aside from what we saw in the movies, the Clone wars series, the Rebels series, and the books we'll get this year and next. Currently only two books "Tarkin" and "A New Dawn", have been released this year that are now considered official canon.

Nah, not a big Star Trek fan either---- although I do appreciate the original T.V. show and admire it's courage to tackle social taboos. (Like having an interracial kiss) I also like the fact that Kirk would get it on with ANYTHING even remotely human-like! I enjoyed the original 3 Star Wars films, but honestly I thought the "Wrath of Kahn" was better than any of them. I developed a total hatred of the later Star Trek T.V. series, as I had a room-mate who would watch nothing but them. That slug spent 8 hours a day on the couch, and would get all pissy if anyone else wanted to watch anything other than Trek--- the 14th generation....or whatever it was. That roomie situation did not end well....
