Just what kind of strange things do you have on your key ring? I found this along side the road while out for a walk at lunch. It is discolored, like it has been hot.

In the summer of 1988 I put a penny on a train track to get squashed. It has been on the key ring that I carry daily since that night.
Not strange but cool.
If you're from the vintage MTB world, you might know what this is:
Given to me by the man himself.
I also have the matching bicycle and golf putter.

I do not know. I found it while out for a walk.
I have always liked the remove before flight tags.

I do not know the story behind that. Please tell.

I have one of those crematory tags on my keys as well, I found it in a river in Virgina. I don't have pictures right now but I can post one later lol
In reply to DannyDattos :
I'm starting to think those tags are commonly left in with the cremains and are getting lost when people dump them out...
In reply to GameboyRMH :
Yeah, I believe they are attached in some way to the bodies before they burn them. Then they end up inside the urn with the ashes, Next time I'm in Virginia I'm going to return the tag to the river.
A clicky toy thing that ive had on my keys for about 30 years.
the old standard flathead screwdriver keychain
a allen key taken from a 80 something firebird with rear window slats
this keychain that came from the old folks i bought my house from. Just kept using it.
It says "Mark Knopfler, Down the Road Wherever." Son Jason and I saw Mark perform in CT a few years ago. This was from that. Great concert.

Paul Brodie of Brodie Bicycles.
Do you watch his YouTube channel? It's pretty good, with a mix of mountain bike and motorcycle content.
As for key rings I hate carrying anything more than necessary. I have a car key and a house key and that's it; I wish there was a way to key my house and car the same so I'd only have to carry a single key.
In reply to stuart in mn :
I do, he's a friend of mine.
I was at his house last month for a big Woodstock themed party.
He's an amazingly talented individual. Watch his Excelsior videos, the man builds 1920's Excelsior OHC motorcycles from scratch, including the engine.
I have a thrown connecting rod from an OS 4-stroke model airplane engine; I think a .90.
It's astoundingly light.
A friend of mine makes drum cymbals by hand and she made me this miniature one as a key chain ornament.
She has some big name clients and I enjoy quietly having a little "symbol" of my friend's talent with me wherever I go.
Maybe this is only a little strange.
When the GTI was at the dealer for service a few months back, they attached a ring to the fob to hold a tag. I left the ring on the fob.
The car was back at the dealer last week for some warranty work.
I got another ring. :)

Ther are definitely in the ashes, for ID. It would take a bit of calling funeral homes in the area to track down who's ashes. But he could, if he wanted to know.
