SUV driver "entered the box" of an intersection, found herself stuck in the middle when the light on her side went to red.
Decided to go back.
She was ticketed $500 for careless driving. Police say it was due to driver's inexperience.
I became leery of riding, when as young boy I saw my brother all scraped up from dumping his motor cycle. Still am.

I have been caught in a line at a light when the guy in front put the car in reverse and I left myself no room for escape. A noob mistake long ago. Fortunately, the horn made him look in the mirror and I got to learn a lesson the easy way.
40 years riding and the closest "near miss" was some soccer mom almost backing into me as I was pumping gas. I assume that if I didn't bang on her back window she would have taken out a pump.
The closest call I've had was turning right into a gas station. A guy leaving came flying around the entrance turning left onto the street I was coming from. He apperantly didn't see me and ripped the wheel heading straight for me. I Think he was looking back to his right to see if the road was clear. Anyway I got as small as I could and his mirror missed my handlebar by a half inch while my lower muffler was grinding into the high curb. But I stayed upright.
My closest call involved a deer, and was so close I think I brushed hoof with my shoulder. It was not high speed, but it was enough that if you tossed 140lbs of meat into my lap it wasn't going to be laughed off either. The second closest involved a 2x6 falling off the back of a pickup on the interstate and cost me a lower faring for a VFR and could have really done me in if it had bounced differently.
Key takeaways...
1) berkeley deer. They are shiny happy people. Slow way the hell down at dusk and dawn and have really good, wide pattern lights. Practice stoppies. Shoot as many as you can when not riding. They are delicious.
2) NEVER stay behind anything with a load of E36 M3 sticking out of it. Pass or fade way back.
