When relatives are leaving my house:
Well... I'm glad you got to see me.
Heard in a YouTube video this week about a particularly bland machine: "It's the dial tone of motorcycles."
He is one I used to hear back in the 80's-90's.
A guy would ask "how's it hangin?" And the reply would be "just fine"
But I would never over hear a chick asking that question to a guy???

In my family we're... not quite prudish, but more like some subjects are left undiscussed.
Mom never had "the talk" with me, she figured I was a voracious reader so there were some certain books left on the bookshelf and things all worked out. That sort of thing. Hell, I probably had read the AMA Big Blue Hypochondriac's Bible back to front a dozen times before I was ten.
So, I had a testicular emergency and found myself in an ER, and shortly thereafter a post-surgical room. Mom calls me up and said "So, how's it hangin'?"
Dammit Mom... it hurt too much to laugh
Sometimes silence works really well. If I'm on a phone call with someone who won't stop interrupting, I'll stop responding. I just wait until they stop because they think that I'm no longer on the call, and ask me if I'm still there.
I'll let them ask a couple of times, and then ask in a surprised tone, "Oh, is it my turn now?"
Occasionally I might also have to resort to saying, "How about we take turns?" I'll say it like I'm introducing a new concept to a three year old.
One time none of this would work, since the person's arguing technique was to ask me a question, then immediately interrupt me at the first syllable. She got an extended silence of several seconds, then I called her on it. I told her that if she did it again I was hanging up.
The whole call was a power struggle, and she wasn't giving anything up, so at that point she pulled the "I'm recording this call" move. A bad choice, since it's not legal to do so without my consent, so the conversation was no longer about her complaint. I began interrupting her, insisting that she confirm or deny her claim to be recording the call. She wouldn't do so, of course. I then told her that I heard her say it, it's illegal in Florida without my consent, so I was done speaking to her. End of call.
" If you don't stop doing that,it might stay that way!" Towards a fellow kid who was doing the cross-eyed face on purpose.
