No, the picture above isn't slightly out of focus and yes, it is a Caterham Superlight R500. But it's made out of Lego. Legoland designers were so impressed when the car scooped BBC TV's Top Gear Car of the Year that they captured the moment in the famous plastic bricks. Taking their place in the 40-million-brick MINILAND attraction at Legoland near Windsor, the show's presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as well as the Stig can be seen huddled around the Superlight in a motorsport-themed arena. "The Caterham is such a timeless and iconic car that it was a no-brainer as our choice for the motorsport area," said Legoland's chief model maker, Guy Bagley. "My colleague remembered that the Stig had put the R500 through its paces and how incredible it was on the test track. "It's a design that lends itself particularly well to our bricks, too." As well as gaining the Top Gear award, the £38,000 Caterham proved its potential by outpacing supercars such as the £1 million Bugatti Veyron. Most things that are cool as hell have a complete dork--a completely obsessed complete dork--behind them.

Love the GT40! But the blue colour should be more turquoise-y.

Good luck with that! It was built by Arvo Bros. - pretty amazing stuff coming from them - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=127268

Call me a purist but legos shouldn't have curves. That GT40 is just cheating

Consider yourself lucky. These days there are a plethora of colors. Back in the day, all we had was blue. One damn color of blue. And we were hard pressed to even find a green. Kids these days...
