PB&J is just as good as a nice steak when it comes to getting me fuel to get on with getting things done. I drive my wife crazy with this. More often than not I look at eating as something that gets in the way of getting things done. I know many people that are borderline obsessed with food and eating and get upset if plans change. They also tend to be the ones that let food run there life.
Some would say we're obsessed with it, but we're not. We just love food. We look at it as a hobby, like racing, or woodworking. We think we're fortunate because it's something we have to do anyway.
We've also found a solution to the what do you want to eat? I don't know, what do you want?
We've made a list of the different foods we like to eat, broken down into quick and easy, and more difficult to make meals. We also have a list of restaurants, also broken down by fast, or sit down restaurants. When we get in that situation, we look at the lists, and choose by process of elimination.
When we both worked, I made a list of a dozen or so quick meals and numbered them. We'd start at number one on Monday, work through the list every day we ate at home. That way we always knew what we were having the next day.

We tend to buy meat on sale and freeze it (LOVE my foodsaver for this). I keep an inventory of waht's in the freezer and map out the week's meals based on what we have on hand. That way I can make sure I take it out of the freezer in time to thaw and we know what's fer dinner. There's always a day or two of wiggle room, so if one of us is craving something else we can work that in.
What can I say, I love food.
