I tend to lean towards class 3 looking crawler builds so my axle and tire choice would be alot different then what your looking for. Still hope to see you build it. RC is a fun hobby.

Yes it is cheaply made, but the look is so right.

So I might have thought of another direction.

I suspect the Tonka body would not like landing on it's roof very well, and also be very prone to landing on it's roof.

Yes it is cheaply made, but the look is so right.

Delivery is still estimated at mid-July, so patience needed.  Definitely tempting... 

Meanwhile, as I was sitting in my house, USPS left me a note as why they didn't leave my truck here instead of my truck. 

Ok I'm impatient so when I called and found out I could go pick it up at the post office, I did.

Bed is in fact pretty bent.

Confirmed for too narrow for a full width SCX axle.

Cab and grill are pretty much all I'm using from this truck, so the rest is geting stored for when I decide this was a terrible idea and put the truck back together so it can be the shelf ornament it deserves to be.

You need to keep the dump bed. And make it functional. 

Hmmm, that WPL truck might be the right width after all.

Never paint it. Please.

Probably have to ditch the front drive to make big-n-littles work, but that is awesome.


FYI, I'm already noticing you need to read the ads really closely on the 6x6. Some sellers have the kits, some have the ready-to-run version. I'm leaning towards grabbing a kit and using all my own electronics. I priced out a FlySky radio, receiver, and cheap ESC at around $40 a year ago, hopefully that is still about right.
