A few years ago I was an extra for a single day in a movie. It was a fun experience and I think worth the effort. However the movie took FOREVER to be released and then was buried with a tiny release in the UAE where it grossed $21,000.

According to IMDB it was actually released last year. And as near as I can tell it isn't available ANYWHERE to watch. Anyone have any idea what happened? Any insight on where to find it? It's all very weird.
The one time I played an extra in a movie, it went straight to DVD
Looks like yours did the same?

Looks like there are many copies on a certain website with a certain type of outlaw's ship as the icon.
Wasn't there a guy recently that became wanted for using movie productions for a cash grab or something? Maybe something like that happened here?
It looks like it was just released in the UK to VOD (video on demand) so I would guess they will have the licensing stuff worked out soon?
I remember back in my freshman year of college 2000-2001, I had to buy the DVD "Boondock Saints" off of UK eBay because it wasn't available for sale in the states yet.

Maybe the FBI suggested the story should not be told::
"The chilling true story of a newly married F.B.I. poster boy assigned to an Appalachian mountain town in Kentucky. There he is drawn into an illicit affair with an impoverished local woman who becomes his star informant. She sees in him her means of escape; instead, it's a ticket to disaster for both of them. This scandal shook the foundations of the nation's top law enforcement agency, ending in the first ever conviction of an F.B.I. Agent for murder."

I was in a crowd scene in Tin Cup...it was fun...and boring. Also hilarious because the scene was supposed to be summer so they told everyone to wear shorts, short sleeve shirts, skirts, etc; but it was filmed in Houston in winter.
Everytime they got ready to film, the crowd would take off their jackets and sweaters, then immediately put them back on. I think I got paid $50, I remember getting a tax form along with the check.
I was an extra on Denim Blues, which was one of Sandra Oh's first roles. I'm not sure I've ever seen an episode. But the opening credits are on YouTube! You'll never guess from watching it, it was in the 80's.

Absolutely! What movie? Was it direct to video?

I costarred with Hepburn on a flick called olly olly oxen free. Ok I didn't costar exactly. I have 1.3 seconds of screen time nearly all to myself toward the end of the film where the balloon makes its grand entrance to land on the stage at the Hollywood Bowl. I was like 7 or so. Still waiting to hear from my agent about my pay :p
I've never been in a movie, but I did have a role as The Registrar in a production of the opera Madama Butterfly.
I went to the rehearsal since I heard that they needed supers. In opera, that's a non-singing part, like for a crowd scene or something, where the members of the opera chorus (who do sing) need some more bodies to fill out the stage.
Fortunately, I can sing (voice major at the time) since the director pointed at me, and said, "That's him. He's the registrar."
Even more fortunately, it's an extremely small part. I had to sing, on pitch and on cue, but it's literally only four syllables.
I was an extra in Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield, filmed at University of Wisconsin when I was a student there. Was filmed pushing my bike up Bascom Hill, but the scene didn’t make the final cut. Even back then, Rodney looked like death. I think they gave me $50 cash. I am sure whatever it was, it got “consumed” by the end of that weekend. Good times ...
We had a location scout drop by last week uninvited. She spent an hour photographing the property and also the fossil, in and out. I take it as a compliment to my landscaping if nothing else. But she was looking for a specific look for a movie to be shot in October so who knows. My sister was asked for her property for three days and was paid $17,500 so the cash would be nice.
